Special Issue Policy
SPECIAL ISSUE POLICY
e3 – Journal of Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship in the community of Portuguese-speaking countries welcomes proposals for Special Issues that contribute to advancing knowledge within the journal’s scope.
Please consult the policy and submit your proposal using the form below.
Special Issues must adhere to the same editorial standards, ethical principles and peer review procedures as regular issues.
Proposal and evaluation process
Proposals for Special Issues should be submitted by a Scientific Coordinator or Guest Editor.
All proposals are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board based on:
- relevance and timeliness of the topic
- scientific merit and coherence of the proposed contributions
- potential impact on the field
- expertise and academic credentials of the Guest Editor(s)
- diversity of authorship and institutional representation
To avoid excessive endogeny, authors from the same institution should not represent more than one third of the total authorship of the Special Issue.
The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
Editorial responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief retains full responsibility for the scientific integrity and editorial oversight of the Special Issue.
Guest Editors coordinate the thematic development but do not make final publication decisions.
All manuscripts submitted to a Special Issue are subject to independent peer review in accordance with the journal’s Peer Review Policy.
Submissions authored by Guest Editors are handled by independent editors.
Submission requirements
Proposals must include:
- title and thematic description of the Special Issue
- name, affiliation, short biography and ORCID of the Guest Editor(s)
- context (conference, research project or thematic initiative)
- introductory text explaining the relevance of the issue
- list of proposed manuscripts and authors
- abstracts of the proposed papers
- timeline including submission deadlines and expected publication date
Publication process
Once approved:
- A submission deadline will be established (normally within three months)
- manuscripts undergo peer review
- the Editorial Board may request revisions before final acceptance
- the Special Issue is published following the journal’s standard procedures
Each article will receive an individual DOI and will be indexed independently.
Final note
Special Issues must maintain the same standards of transparency, peer review and editorial independence as regular issues.
